Emma Benack speaks with Matt Hsu, a Taiwanese Australian composer who is the creator of Matt Hsu's Obscure Orchestra. Matt works with a wide variety of instruments and natural sounds to create music that helps represent his cross-cultural upbringing. Matt has created compositions alongside people of all different identities, according to their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, and more. The orchestra's music celebrates cultural differences and Matt also uses his music projects to advocate for marginal communities.
