Aldo NICE, Rog Smuve and C.A.P. welcomed MileHigh CI to the podcast to add some more Denver flavor a month before Best Friend Weekend in Colorado. We reviewed some hot topics from the last few podcasts with feedback about our white female listeners (06:00), how we are Cowboys haters (09:00) and the glaring omissions in our Black Actor Championship Belt lineage tracing (18:00). After making adjustments to our timeline, we got into the discussion we wanted to have about Bruno Mars and cultural appropriation. Using Seren Sensei’s viral video as a backdrop, we asked if playing up racial ambiguity is really a bad thing (38:00), if America really likes their black music from non-black faces (43:00), and if Bruno Mars is simply a karaoke singer who doesn’t compare to Michael Jackson or Prince (48:00). With March Madness upon us, we talked about user friendly NCAA brackets (57:00) and encouraged everyone to fill out a bracket in our #BlackMovieBracket on bestfriendweekend.biz (1:01:00).
