In this Episode:Humanity Project Charles Burrell Share's his story on how it all started. What they are doing now and where we go from here. We discuss the importance of seeing "homelessness" as simply "PEOPLE without a home" and not "Homeless people." Labels can distort the reality of things and strip away the value of who we really are. The more compassion and kindness we can cultivate as an individual, the more it spreads to those around us. The phrase "We are wired to be kind" is supported by the science of how our brains flood with feel good chemical reactions when we conclude an act of kindness. Imagine what we could accomplish if we all worked together to help each other thrive and succeed rather than bring each other down through sever judgment, hate, violence, discrimination, rascism, sexism, and type of negative "ism" there is. There is a poem I wrote in grade 4: "Bullies are bad, they think they're rad, but if we all work together, they'll be strong as a feather." Even a 10 year old child knows the value of banding together to accomplish great things. Be mindful of those around you, for you do not know where they came from, and how difficult it is for them to get out of the hard place they're in.
