Having spoken on the first stanza (Isaiah 52:13-15) last week, Rabbi Gary speaks on the second stanza (Isaiah 53:1-3) this week. In this prophecy, Isaiah looks forward to the time when Israel as a nation will confess her sin of rejecting Messiah because when He came,. He did not appear as He was expected to appear. Israel expected Messiah to appear in power and glory; however, in actuality, He would appear lowly and in a much less and desired state than Israel anticipated.
