Today we talk with head of The Flava Factory in Ottawa and event director of House of Paint, Sami Slynks. Sami and I connected several years ago in Whitehorse, Yukon of all places and since then I’ve seen him take incredible steps to building up the community in Ottawa. He’s a quick talker and in an hour we covered and dove deep into a number of topics. We talk about starting up a studio, blending the studio and dance industry with hip hop culture, dance, flow, and in the moment creation, throwing events with the larger general public in mind, details into the creation process of House of Paint, one of the best events in Canada that showcases all elements of hip hop culture, and more.
