Bridget Bernadette Phillips, a 22-year-old graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, was brutally murdered on March 22, 1989, in her off-campus Baltimore apartment. Bridget, who was studying Medieval and Byzantine history, was found bludgeoned to death near the entrance of her apartment, with no signs of robbery or sexual assault. Investigators collected forensic evidence, including hairs under her fingernails and a bloody shoe print, but despite early leads, the case went cold and remains unsolved to this day. The ferocity of the attack suggested a personal motive, but no suspects were ever definitively identified
