Gino "The Weasel" Fratianno was a notorious Mafia enforcer whose criminal career spanned several decades, from his early days in Cleveland to his rise within the Los Angeles crime family. Known for his ruthless efficiency in executing Mafia hits, including the infamous murder of Johnny Roselli, Fratianno was deeply involved in extortion, loan sharking, and labor racketeering across the U.S. In the late 1970s, fearing for his life and facing legal pressure, he became a government informant, providing the FBI with valuable information that led to the convictions of numerous high-ranking Mafia figures. His decision to betray the Mafia’s code of silence shocked the criminal underworld and helped weaken the influence of organized crime in America. Fratianno lived out his remaining years in the Witness Protection Program and died of natural causes in 1993.
