Journalist Paula Faris found her sons dirty underwear in her purse, ran out of time before we could talk about cheerleading career and wants you to read “You Don't Have to Carry It All: Ditch the Mom Guilt and Find a Better Way Forward”.

Welcome Paula Faris:

We’re joined on the Starline by an Emmy award-winning Journalist, TV correspondent, podcaster, author, founder of Carry Media and most importantly, mom of three kids. Her latest project is writing “You Don't Have to Carry It All: Ditch the Mom Guilt and Find a Better Way Forward”. We welcome Paula Faris.

Paula, let’s go Beyond the Mic. You lost your job at the beginning of the pandemic. Why was writing this book so important for you?

What’s the biggest mom guilt trip you put on yourself trying to balance having a career and family?

You’ve worked in Chicago, Cincinnati, Dayton, New York and so many other places doing amazing things. Where were you when you found your true purpose and calling, and how did that free your heart and soul?

The Rockin' 8:

Your nickname was Paula 20 Questions, well it’s time for my 8 question. It’s the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Weirdest thing you found in your purse from a road trip?

2. The one thing all moms need is…

3. Book your kids loved being read to sleep each night?

4. One thing you do each night for yourself?

5. Other than the episode with your mom and husband, favorite of your Paula Faris podcast episodes?

6. One thing from your mother taught you , that you want to pass onto your daughter?

7. What card game are you awesome at?

8. Favorite charity?

Which ways was your husband John the most helpful with Caroline, JJ and Landon?

One Big Question:

Recently was the anniversary of your father passing and your mother had a stroke. How tight to you hold and cherish her now?

The Wrap:

She found her sons dirty underwear in her purse, ran out of time before we could talk about cheerleading career and wants you to read “You Don't Have to Carry It All: Ditch the Mom Guilt and Find a Better Way Forward”. Paula Faris, thanks for taking the time to talk with us today.

And that my friends is a Beyond the Mic Short Cut.
