What you see today may feel overwhelming, but what is unseen is far greater. What you see are the problems circling in around you … what is unseen are the solutions circling in around your problems.

GOD IS BIGGER THAN THIS! Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” But how do you know God is for you? Oh honey, look no further than Jesus. If God sent his one and only son to die for you, don’t you think that confirms God is indeed FOR YOU?

There are some things against you right now, but God is FOR you. Find confidence in that. GOD IS FOR YOU. Does that mean he will make things easy for you? No … because easy isn’t good for you. Easy living creates lazy living. Lazy living does not honor God or live up to the potential he has put within you. So, no, he’s not going to make it all easy for you, but girl, he’s going to surround you and make a way for you through this!

Psalms 34:7, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them.”

Now, let’s look at other translations to get a broader view.

MSG: “God’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray.”

Voice: “The messenger of the Eternal God surrounds everyone who walks with Him and is always there to protect and rescue us.”

NLT: “For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.”

Do you get the picture? God’s angels circle around us, protecting us, fighting for us, rescuing us. This is the absolute reality for those of us who fear the Lord.

I must admit, the concept of fearing God has always been a bit confusing for me. I find I trust God far more than I fear him. I no longer see God as the old white bearded man with angry eyebrows and big stick sitting on a throne. I see him as a loving, welcoming, merciful and faithful Father who will move Heaven and Earth personally for me. So, why would I fear him?

Fear of God means two totally different things, depending on your relationship with Jesus. Without Jesus, you fear the judgment of God and eternal separation from God. With Jesus, your fear of God is a holy reverence and awe. I’m not scared of God because he has promised to never leave me and never forsake me, but never let anything separate me from his love. I’m secure and confident in that, so I live in absolute awe of his creation, of his love and of his power, and this awe impacts the choices I make.

If you are a follower of Jesus, you have absolutely NOTHING to be afraid of in God. He is for you, not against you. He has sent his angels to encamp around you.

I read about a fellow believer’s vision of these angels, and it gave me those holy goose bumps. She saw angels encamped around her adult children’s homes. But they weren’t the sweet little cheriubs with wings and chunky cheeks. They were 20 to 30 foot tall warriors! When she questioned why they were circling their homes, she was told, “because your prayers ordered us there.”

My sister, your prayers call the angels. Not the chunky cute kind … the tall warrior kind. The ones who will fight for you. The ones who will hold back the enemy.

But you will likely never see them.

Your protection is real even if it is invisible. I love the story of Elisha’s servant who was overwhelmed by the enemy’s forces who had surrounded them overnight. The servant got up the next morning, seeing the army with horses and chariots surrounding the city. 2 Kings 6:15, he says, “Oh, my master, what are we to do?”

Verse 16, “Elisha said, ‘Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed for the Lord to open his eyes and let him see. Verse 17 says, “So the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

Notice Elisha didn’t pray for the circumstances to change. He didn’t even pray for the enemy to go away. He simply prayed that his servant would see the reality of the situation.

My sister, you aren’t seeing the reality of this situation. There’s so much more in the unseen. There’s more that God is doing and it’s so much bigger than just this. Father, increase our faith here!

Faith is not imagining unreal things. It’s not making up imaginary things to make us feel better in the moment. It’s not a false hope in fairytales. Faith is believing things that cannot be seen, but knowing they are real. Just because you can’t see it makes it no less real or present.

So what is the reality of this situation you’re in? The reality is, God’s angels are encamped around you!!!!! Encamped means they are stationed there. They’re staying. Around you is their assignment. Not cheeky cherubs playing harmonicas. Angels of fire who cannot be defeated!!!!!!

As God’s girls, the ones who live in holy reverence and awe of him, we have every reason to be confident no matter what we are going through. Why? Because even though we can’t see it, we know we are surrounded! God is surrounding what has surrounded you!

And remember, those angels take orders according to your powerful prayers. Where do you need to send an encampment of angels today?
