This episode is a must-listen for pregnant parents or grandparents eager to support their loved ones in the most respectful and helpful way. Kimberly Beppler is my guest today. Kimberly has been a Postpartum Doula for over 25 years. She is a Lactation Consultant and also owns her own doula agency. She has also worked with an astounding 750 sets of twins and 20 sets of triplets. To say that she has been in the field and worked in helping to navigate boundaries with hundreds of parents and grandparents might not do that task justice.

We cover so many nuances and topics in this episode to the often-overlooked struggles that new parents grapple with, especially in an era where the village mentality of raising children has diminished, leaving parents to navigate the waters of parenthood with less communal support.

Listeners will gather ideas and tools and understand the importance of setting clear boundaries with grandparents, who, while well-intentioned, may inadvertently overstep. Our conversation reveals the delicate balance between welcoming the invaluable support grandparents can offer and maintaining the autonomy of the new family unit. There is a path to a harmonious transition into parenthood, offering actionable advice on how to communicate effectively with extended family members.

Kimberly does online consultations and has videos and virtual courses on her website to help you navigate all things postpartum.
