The French Election Special invited political commentators, scholars, artists and journalists to talk about tendencies in the upcoming french election (April 23rd) in light of global politics, the history of terrorism, rhetorics of fear and hopes for the future. With: Øyvind Strømmen (journalist, translator og and writer, managing editor in Hate Speech International hate-speech.org), Katharina Wolff (Associate Professor, Department of Psychosocial Science, Faculty of Psychology, the University of Bergen), Chloé Bezault (Board member Alliance Française, spokesperson for the demonstration of solidarity after the terror attacks in Paris, French teacher and guide), Helge Vidar Holm (Professor, French literature and cultural studies, Department of Foreign Languages, the University of Bergen). Moderator: Samantha Hatten. The lecture and debate is part of the Pure Bonus programme at BIT Teatergarasjen and is supported by Fritt Ord (The Freedom of Expression Foundation).
