Concept of Group buying and Group Selling will emerge with technology and innovative startup picking up this unique value chain for disruption.
Trillions of dollars investment will be needed to nurture this evergreen opportunity to make sustainable business model with high margins.
Food value chains need to be defined with essential and non essential activity to prevent more people touching food before it appears on the consumer plate. This never means food should be made in large factories , thousands of mile away from farm , farmer and consumer.
Cooperative and Co-manufacturing concepts with Farmer producer organization powered by capital and technology access will be game changer. 10000+ FPO in India with proximity based value addition and manufacturing of Read to Cook or Ready to Eat food will be the "Future of Food" , will be Farm to Form. Hope Boardroom people are listening ... it is time to e-connect with Farmers , visit mandis , talk to intermediaries to understand the problem statement and find innovative solutions.
