Rachel and Nate interview Kimberly Applewhite-Teitter on her experience working as a Black therapist at BYU and in Utah. She shares what led to her wanting to be a therapist and serve communities that are typically forgotten. She shares in detail about her introduction to BYU as faculty, never having attended the school. And how she experienced feelings of isolation when working there. Kimberly also shares her experience with transracial adoptive families and shares advice on how parents with transracial adoptive children can best equip themselves and their children, to be prepared for the experience of being Black in Utah schooling.
