On episode 374 of the BlockHash Podcast, Developer Advocate João Garcia joins Brandon Zemp to explain Cartesi, an app-specific rollup protocol with a virtual machine that runs Linux distributions. Cartesi’s application-specific rollups push the boundaries of decentralized computation, paving the way for transformational change to the Web3 landscape. Cartesi empowers developers to go beyond the EVM’s design limitations, while still inheriting Ethereum’s strong security and censorship resistance guarantees. The Cartesi Virtual Machine runs a Linux operating system, giving Web3 developers access to decades of existing code libraries, programming languages, and open-source tooling that you can’t get on Ethereum. This allows for a new generation of gaming platforms, financial services, social networks, and other novel dApps to be discovered. João Garcia is a Developer Advocate at Cartesi. João is a passionate software developer with a solid foundation from both his bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Information Systems. His journey includes a significant milestone at the Apple Developer Academy, where he started experimenting with IoT and social network solutions. ⏳ Timestamps: 0:00 | Introduction 2:13 | Who is João Garcia? 4:14 | What’s unique about Cartesi? 5:39 | What is the mission of Cartesi? 7:42 | Linux on Cartesi 10:04 | Cartesi projects 14:21 | Cartesi Experiment Week 15:32 | Cartesi Rollup Lab 16:32 | Cartesi developer community 17:46 | Cartesi Grants and Bug Bounties 20:58 | Cartesi roadmap 22:20 | Cartesi social media and website 🎙 Cartesi on Social Media: 🔗 Website: https://cartesi.io/ 🔗 X: https://twitter.com/cartesiproject 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cartesi/ 🔗 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cartesiproject/ 🔗 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Cartesiproject 🔗 Telegram: https://t.me/CartesiProject 🔗 Discord: https://discord.com/invite/pfXMwXDDfW 🔗 Rollup Lab: https://rolluplab.io/ 🔗 Dev Ad Seed Grants: https://cartesi-devad.notion.site/cartesi-devad/DevAd-Seed-Grants-508924fb3cbb4e67a6a1c03a7fc48292 🔗 Developer Guides: https://github.com/cartesi/DevGuide ●▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬● 📢 Disclaimer: None of our content constitutes, nor is intended to act as financial advice.
