In this episode of In The Vet’s Office, Taylin Lewan (animal advocate & wife of former NFL player/Bussin’ with the Boys co-host Taylor Lewan) and her senior Husky, Akira, join Dr. Josie. Taylin discusses rescuing Akira when she was just 18-years-old after losing two family members and immediately bonding with her during one of life’s hardest seasons. Taylin shares that Akira recently survived cancer and moves around a little slower these days. She discusses handling the anticipatory grief of knowing Akira won’t be around forever. Taylin also shares about her plethora of farm animals and learning some hard lessons through trial and error -- from keeping her chickens alive amongst Tennessee’s many predators to learning her goats had ‘goat herpes.’ After the interview, Dr. Josie and Shannon wrap up the episode with PAW & ORDER where Dr. Josie details things she’d never do with her own pets including keeping lilies out of your cat’s reach which can cause fatal kidney failure!
