Hour 1

We are loving the new Hard Knocks offseason with the NY Giants. Gio thought it was going to be boring but he thinks it’s ‘football porn’. We are seeing a lot more than we thought with the Giants having final say on what airs. They showed us how much they were looking into drafting a quarterback. We got to see Joe Schoen going over to the Patriots to tell them they were interested in trading with them, presumably to take a quarterback. Last night’s episode ended with a conversation with Joe Schoen and Saquon Barkley. Jerry is back with a trophy and is here for his first update of the day and starts with audio of Joe Schoen from last night’s Hard Knocks. The Mets beat the Nationals as Brandon Nimmo hit a HR that looked like a pop-up that just kept carrying. Lindor also had a HR and 3 RBIs on the night. The bullpen was bad again as they had a 6-run lead in the 8th and gave up 5 runs. The Yankees lost again as Carlos Rodon gave up 4 runs in the first inning. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls on last night’s Hard Knocks episode with Joe Schoen and the Giants.

Hour 2

Gio would be floored if the Yankees fire Aaron Boone before the season is over. Are they capable of getting back to the way they were playing at the start of the season? What are the Yankees? We know the Mets are a .500 team, but what about the Yankees? Boomer thinks the Mets will be buyers at the deadline. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio from last night’s Hard Knocks with the Giants and their discussions about Saquon Barkley. Schoen did tell Saquon to test the market to see what his value is. The Yankees lost to the Rays in the series opener as Carlos Rodon gave up 4 runs in the first. Aaron Boone was on with Jomboy and they asked him about Rafael Devers vs Gerrit Cole. The Mets beat the Nationals. They had a 6-0 lead in the 8th but had to hang on to win 7-5. Boomer needs the Mets to get on a winning streak to be above .500 and stay there. Carlos Mendoza talked about the bullpen struggles. In the final segment of the hour, Mike Gundy put his foot in his mouth while trying to defend a player who got in trouble for a DUI. Gio heard that Mike Tomlin is out in WestHampton during the Summer. Gio would love to run into Tomlin at a bar out there.

Hour 3

We talked more about Joe Schoen, the Giants and Hard Knocks offseason. Gio can’t believe how casual the discussions are for trades and the like. He thought it would be more formal and organized. Boomer wishes we had Hard Knocks following the Giants as they were deciding to give Daniel Jones his huge contract. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio from Hard Knocks as Joe Schoen talked to Saquon’s agent about testing the market. Aaron Boone was on with Jomboy and they had a list of lackadaisical plays by the Yankees this season. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer was at his granddaughter's princess birthday party. She just turned 4 years old.

Hour 4

The Netflix series, Receivers, debuts today. I guess they couldn’t get enough quarterbacks for season 2 of Quarterbacks. Boomer said if you make it into the NFL, you’re not a ‘scrub’, regardless of what Gio says. We talked about quarterbacks that would have been great for a season 2. Boomer doesn’t think the guys want to give the time that it requires. Gio met somebody who went down to Brazil for the NFL to check things out before they play a game down there this season. Jerry returns for his final update of the day but first Gio said somebody in Colorado has the plague. Eddie told us it’s not a big deal these days. Jerry claims this as Moment of The Day. We heard from Joe Schoen on Hard Knocks telling Saquon to test the market and come back to the Giants. The Mets beat the Nationals as Nimmo and Lindor homered. The bullpen, as always, kept it way closer than it needed to be. The Yankees lost again, this time to the Rays and are now 6-17 in their last 23 games. In the final segment of the show, Gio said there are dengue fever cases in NY because of mosquitoes. Boomer and Gio both said when they were kids, they would ride their bikes behind the mosquito truck on Long Island.
