Hour 1 Jerry has tried to stay positive all week but the Mets made that impossible after last night’s loss. Edwin Diaz blew the game and it was yet another bullpen implosion for the Mets, who are fading from contention. The Yankees lost a game and series in Washington. Carlos Rodon was bad again. Dodgers fans lined up hours before a game for a Shohei Ohtani bobblehead. Willie can’t believe how much people care about bobbleheads and are willing to spend to get them. CLo is in with his first update of the day and begins with the terrible Mets loss. Edwin Diaz told reporters after the game that he knew it was going to be a bad night because he had no command. Brandon Nimmo passionately defended the Mets recent play after the game. Carlos Rodon had another rough night. Ohtani’s bobblehead has his dog on it. ESPN will make a 30 for 30 about the Sack Exchange. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry reads Willie a story about a couple who crashed a car while getting busy in the middle of the night. Willie can’t believe that Jerry prefers manual transmission to auto. He finds auto “boring”. Hour 2 We continued the conversation about manual transmission vs auto because the debate stayed heated during the break. Russell Wilson won the starting QB job in Pittsburgh. Jerry asks Willie what he expects from the Steelers and Wilson since he played for Mike Tomlin. Jerod Mayo will announce the Patriots starter later today. We expect it to be Jacoby Brissett. Jerry thinks Jets fans need to get excited for the season. Willie said that even as a player he started to feel like the Jets were cursed. Willie explains how the Jets have a different relationship with the media than every other NFL team. CLo returns for an update but first we draw lines in the sand on the iPhone vs Android debate and learn Jerry doesn’t love air fryers as much as Willie does. Edwin Diaz blew another save last night in a bad loss for the Mets. Carlos Rodon had a baseball 101 blunder in the Yankees loss. Who is the Yankees second starter? Joe Schoen talked about expectations for this season and didn’t say much. Neither did Daniel Jones. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry shares a story from the golf course that almost resulted in us losing Joe Benigno yesterday thanks to Sal Licata. Hour 3 Jerry follows up with Willie about his earlier comment that he once told a Jets teammate he thinks the team could be cursed. Jerry asks if he still thinks that is true. Willie says it’s hard not to after what happened to Aaron Rodgers last year. Things happen to the Jets that don’t happen to anyone else. Jerry says Jets fans should look to the Red Sox and Cubs as inspiration to see that if curses do exist then they can be broken. Willie tells a story about Bill Belichick putting him through a “walk of shame” back when he was a Jet. Jerry asks Willie what to expect from Daniel Jones this season and how Jones can make significant strides. CLo returns for an update and begins with the Mets implosion out in the desert. Evan is on vacation but still doing a Rico Brogna podcast after every game. The Yankees turned one of the strangest double plays you’ll ever see thanks to some terrible baserunning by the Nationals. Jerod Mayo has named Jacoby Brissett the Patriots starting QB. Willie says the Steelers players laughed with Mike Tomlin, not at him. They often didn’t know what Tomlin meant. John Lynch sounds fed up with the Brandon Aiyuk situation. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry says that Sauce Gardner is coming around on New York pizza. Willie breaks down some relationship drama he has because of pizza. A caller backs Jerry up on drinking milk while eating pizza. Willie can’t support some of Jerry’s food choices. Hour 4 Jerry says he’s getting support online from people who also drink milk while eating pizza. The Mets keep blowing games while the Braves keep winning. It was a game they could have and should have won as well as a chance for very positive momentum. NBC 4’s ...
