On today’s pod (1:00) we are previewing the Mets 2021 season by playing WAR Games (and no, we’re not referring to the old wrestling gimmick or Matthew Broderick movie)! The “Born in ‘87” podcast’s version of WAR Games consists of a 5 round snake draft in which our guests, Travis Williams, Ross Green and Alex Bigelisen join us to draft players on the Mets. The goal with each pick in our draft is to draft the available Mets player who will have the best WAR in 2021. The person who collectively drafts the 5 players with the best cumulative WAR in 2021 wins. Drafts are fun, and this proved to be a really entertaining way to talk about all of the players on the Mets 2021 roster, and preview the season which is about to begin on Thursday night. At the top of the pod, we briefly go through why we are excited (or nervous) about the 2021 Mets (3:30), and then we jump into our WAR Draft (10:17).
