Margaret Greville was a mysterious character with an extraordinary destiny. She was born in Edinburgh – very far away from the elegant districts of London – on December 20, 1863, but inherited a fortune estimated to be worth 1,500,000 pounds sterling. She was one of the richest women in Great Britain, and she managed to keep that wealth all her life. Her two passions were gemstones and the royal family.
