We’ve all had to make changes in our lives, some are forced on us and some we decide to change for ourselves. This week I talk about the science behind why change is so difficult to come by and it has a lot to do with the way we are wired as humans. Even when we know we MUST make a change we desperately cling to what is familiar because it’s what we know. And what we know and what is familiar is what brings us comfort and makes us feels safe...and we’re taught from an early age that safe is a good thing - the right thing - and although I agree with that from a physical state of being - from a growth and expansion state - safe keeps you stuck. Unable to make decisions that could make a great impact in your future because the new landscape is untraveled, unknown and risky. I know that world all too well. I stayed in relationships that I needed to walk away from, in jobs, friendships and mindsets that kept me from creating any lasting change. Ultimately I was forced to change because of my new surroundings- even though at the time I swore to myself this change was only temporary - only until I was home then I was going back to the same person. And well as we now know...that wasn’t possible. The old me was gone and a new me emerged. Changed forever. A change that required me to unravel myself down to my foundation and rebuild from a new perspective. Hope that after listening you’re able to take away with ways in which you can apply change into your own life as well. Thank you again for tuning in...see you in the episode 💗
