Like many other diseases of the nervous system, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is not a diagnosis you want to receive in the neurology clinic. But once the diagnosis is made, quality of life supersedes quantity of life. Many academic and private hospitals provide a multi-disciplinary ALS clinic to meet the needs of their patients and their loved ones. In this BrainWaves episode, Dr. Lauren Elman discusses her experience with the multidisciplinary ALS clinic at Pennsylvania Hospital. BrainWaves podcasts and online content are intended for medical education only and should not be used to guide medical decision making in routine clinical practice. Any cases discussed in this episode are fictional and do not contain any patient health identifying information. This episode was vetted and approved by Lauren Elman. REFERENCES 1.
