Kia ora, Talofa, Ma’lelei, Bula, Aloha and Welcome to Season 10 Episode 29 of Breakfast Bites, by TEIVOVOdigital.com – a wrap of Pasifika people’s sports news, on Tuesday morning 30 July 2024.
Coming to you with tons of hanisi from the 180th meridian, in the middle of the blue continent, where it is clear and a freezing 17 degrees Celsius at 5am.
In the Paris Olympic Games Women’s Rugby 7s: A new record women’s rugby attendance was set as 66,000 fans packed Stade de France for the first day of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 women’s Rugby 7s competition, where Australia, France, New Zealand and the USA confirmed their quarter-final spots with a match to spare, following double victories on the opening day.
Fijiana 7s meanwhile lost to New Zealand 38-7 overnight and went down to Brazil 28-22 this morning, to crash out big time after winning bronze in Tokyo 2021.
Sadly, something is definitely wrong with this team.

In Rugby League: The Broncos look set to miss finals for the third time in four seasons under Kevin Walters and rugby league legend, Gordon Tallis is blaming Adam Reynolds!
“I think the team is lacking leadership. There should be a change with the person who gets the C next to their name,” he said.
Last weekend the Broncos produced their worst performance of the season when they were hammered by the Bulldogs.
Tallis believes the team - which made the grand final last year - is lacking direction and he blames Reynolds.
In SportsBiz: In 2002, the Celtics were valued at US$306Million. Today, they are worth a staggering US$4.7Billion, making them the NBA’s fourth-highest-valued team. After winning an 18th title, could they become basketball’s first US$5B team?
In Football: Paris Olympics Women’s Football group stage games: Canada 2-1 France, USA 4-1 Germany, Zambia 5-6 Australia and Spain 1-0 Nigeria. Men: Japan 1-0 Mali, France 1-0 Guinea, Paraguay 4-2 Israel and USA 4-1 New Zealand.
In Boxing: An Australian heavyweight boxer at the Olympic Games in Paris has come out fighting about the small portions of food in the athletes village. He wanted 12 lamb chops for dinner, but their maximum serve is two chops per person. The guy is six foot six and well over 100Kg.
The joke is: “He came here as a heavyweight, he’ll go home as a middleweight.”
Geez mate – 12 chops! He must be Tongan!
And that’s a wrap peeps!
