The government is planning to continue its ongoing trials of cashless debit cards for those on income support in several communities across Australia, including Ceduna here in SA and East Kimberley in WA, and are hoping to extend the programme due to its alleged success.
We spoke to Elise Klein from the University of Melbourne about the programme and the impact it’s had on the East Kimberley community is.
