Today’s episode features the rest of our conversation with an old friend of our hosts. Rev. Paul Seay is the Senior Pastor at First UMC of Abingdon, VA and also serves Charles Wesley UMC. Paul was recently awarded the Denman Evangelism Award at the 2024 Holston Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church for his work over the past year in growing his church. Paul shared a lot of great nuggets and ideas so we had to split it into two parts. Part two of our conversation in this episode focuses on defining church growth differently at his two distinctly different churches. Also, how they started focusing on the “why” of outreach and events as opposed to the what. This leads to the proposition that maybe we do the same event/class/project but in a different way!
