Microbusinesses represent 95% of the businesses in the UK. Originally falling in the SME category, they have now been recognised as different entities with different needs to SMEs. A microbusiness has between 0 and 9 employees with a turnover of less than £2m per year. Co-founders of the MicroBizMatters movement, Tony Robinson OBE and Tina Boden, are passionate about providing support for microbusinesses, and making the most of the power of plenty. They started their movement with Enterprise Rocks on a beach in Scarborough in January 2012. Realising they needed a focal point, the idea of day to focus on all things microbusiness came about and is MicroBizMatters.

MicroBizMatters Day is a day for recognition, learning and action for all microbusiness owners, suppliers and customers - it is not about selling! It is always held the 2nd Friday of the New Year and is in it's 5th year. While there is a live event - this year in Hull - it is a social media event allowing you to participate wherever you may be.

The event is led by the extremely knowledgeable, passionate (and entertaining!) co-founders Tina Boden and Tony Robinson OBE.
