John Coulson, Deputy Principal and Academic Dean, Lecturer in Bible

Holiness is one of those words that often gets misunderstood. Many Christians have an incomplete or misguided view of holiness. For some, the word conjures thoughts of rigid obedience, self-effort, and even failure and condemnation.

But what does holiness really look like when we’re in right relationship with God? BST Deputy Principal, John Coulson recently preached on Exodus 23 to help us understand what holiness looked like for Israel and what it means for believers today. John reminded us that holiness is first a gift from God which means our holiness is everything to do with God and not us. But does that mean we enter into a moral vacuum when we’re in right relationship with God? Click on to hear John’s chapel sermon>
