It’s a new episode of the Bristol Beats Club comedy podcast. Listen now!

Has your own mother ever agreed to meet you then cancelled last minute? Or worse, simply not turned up at all? Because that’s exactly what happened to us recently, and it got us thinking all about being left in the lurch.

Given our somewhat unruly youth, it’s a topic that conjured more than a couple of memories. So we decided to make it the talking point of this week’s podcast. Hit play now and treat your ears to one or two of the Beats Clubbers’ more comical tales of being left in the lurch.

Those of you that do listen will be treated to our classic feature, Festival Focus. This week, we offer you a comprehensive Best Kept Secret Festival review – a festival that could well be king of festivals 2015.

You’ll also be treated to another rendition of Let’s Kick Sexism Out Of Rap Music. This week, we rewrite the lyrics penned by Ludacris for his bit-part in the song ‘Yeah’. Needless to say, the line

if you hold the head steady I’ma milk the cow

does not get off lightly.

As always, our idle chit-chat is interspersed with cutting edge and classic indie, electro and indietronica. The podcast remains downloadable via iTunes so tracks have been removed in their entirety but featured this week were:

  • Kid Astray – Still Chasing Nothing
  • Arctic Monkeys – From The Ritz To The Rubble
  • Jungle – Julia
  • Arcade Fire – Reflektor
  • The Naked & Famous – Punching In A Dream
  • The Vaccines – Handsome
  • B. Miles – Nine Matches
  • Circa Waves – T-shirt Weather

Have a listen now, we love having every single one of you on board. Oh, and before you go – we’ll be talking about lies getting out of hand next week, so send us your related anecdotes. Ever told a lie you’ve instantly regretted? Or become trapped in a lie that you now face daily? Email your tales through to info@bristolbeatsclub.com. Then for God’s sake, subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.
