In this episode Johan and Jehu are joined with guests in the studio, Cassia (Author/missionary/former missions director/prayer leader/settlement worker) and Abe Wiebe (prayer leader, home builder). They discuss the challenges of being in the prayer room. Fighting boredom and how to stay steady when it gets hard.

-The Lord made it clear the the House of prayer was going to be a long and difficult labour. But it is worth it.

-“Prayer is hard work”

-Perceptions of people that give themselves to the prayer room

-Prayer is hard, difficult and worth it

-Prayer Room is a little like marriage

-Sometimes we want to avoid talking to God when we are feeling weak

-Setting yourself not to quit

-We don’t stay in the boredom and difficulty

-Don’t quit!

-The prayer room is a consistent place where you know you can connect with the Lord

-The prayer room is a place you can slow down and meet with Jesus

-The Consuming Fire refines us burns away the things that are not true and leaves gold when we stay before Him

-Allow His presence to refine us

-Disciples were falling asleep when Jesus wanted to sit and pray with his friends

-We can have Peter’s journey where we start falling asleep, but he leads us into greater intensity

-Sometimes…people sleep in the prayer room

-We feel opposition because prayer is valuable to the Lord

-Common experience to feel difficulty in getting to the prayer room

-Why does the Lord allow prayer to sometimes be boring?

-What are some of the things that keep us steady in the place of prayer

-From community and family to encountering Him corporately

-Expectancy

-Re-alignment with the Lord’s heart

-We need the place of prayer to meet with the Lord when circumstances get difficult

-The hours available in the prayer movement are a gift to the church

-Knowing God likes prayer and enjoys us in the place of prayer is going to keep us steady

-We go to the place of prayer to be reminded of who God is and how He feels about us
