Alexis sits down with chef and restauranteur José Andrés and discusses the role of technology in the future of food distribution, the significance of having long tables, and what we can learn about parenting from paella. José Andrés is a Spanish American chef and restaurateur. He has won a ton of awards, both for his cooking and humanitarian work. He owns some of the most successful restaurants in America, and is often credited with bringing the small plates fine dining craze here. As if that is not enough, José is a professor and founder of the Global Food Institute at George Washington University, and the founder of World Central Kitchen, a non-profit devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters, warzones, or other humanitarian crises where food relief is critical.
