Imagine this:
You have this great idea for a new project. It’s something you’ve been dreaming of doing for a while. After some deep brainstorming, you decide to take the plunge and launch that new idea.
You take all the necessary precautions, prepare like crazy and get your hands dirty doing everything that’s needed to get that project ready. After some time you are finally ready to release your new baby to the world.
But something happens.
Right before you are ready to launch, these thoughts start to seep in:
“What if the launch fails?”
“Will anyone even care about what I have to say?”
Then you start comparing yourself with others. And come up with a MILLION reasons why this new project won’t work. FEAR has crept into your body and it’s holding you hostage. That new project is now on pause.
This happened to me in early 2018.
I LOVE a good inspirational story and would often look for articles of small business women rocking it in the creative industry.
There weren’t that many out there. At least not for home-based businesses run by women. It was then that I came up with the great idea of launching a podcast that highlights women in tech (the design segment was added later).
It almost didn’t happen though because of FEAR.
On this week’s episode, I chat with Dana James Mwangi of Cheers Creative. She has appearances in Forbes magazine, EssenceNow, Awwwards and more. Dana figured out the key to combating fear and use it to grow her business instead of letting that emotion use her.
Check out this powerful episode that tackles issues like being a female in a predominantly male industry, her struggles, and successes, what to do with fear productivity/workflow tips and more!
