Aaron Burr – President?

It was 1800 and electoral voting for President and Vice-President was confused. Aaron Burr might become President instead of Thomas Jefferson. Federalists moved their support from John Adams to Burr and for more than a week Jefferson and Burr were deadlocked at 73 Electoral votes each. It wasn’t until Alexander Hamilton convinced one Senator to trade his votes for certain commitments from Jefferson that the issue was resolved.
