- Jose Cortez, 39, was arrested in the Mexican city of Iztacalco, after raping and murdering a 17-year-old. After further investigation, he was found to be a serial killer, and named by some as the Mexican Jeffrey Dahmer.
- Murad Dervish was arrested after shooting and killing Thomas Meixner outside his office at the University of Arizona. Murad had been previously expelled from university where he was a graduate student.
- The remains that were found in a chimney in 2011 were finally Identified as that of 26-year-old marine, Joseph Schexnider, who disappeared in 1984.
