Matthew Bartlett co-founded Darby Field Advisors after his time serving at the U.S. Department of State.
While at the State Department, he served first as the Congressional Liaison for the Office of the Global HIV/AIDS Coordinator, working under Dr. Deborah Birx. Matthew oversaw the bipartisan reauthorization of the U.S. effort to combat global HIV/AIDS, PEPFAR, through the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. Upon passage, he coordinated with the Administration to hold a high profile post signing ceremony with VP Mike Pence on World AIDS Day.
Matthew then moved to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, where he served in leadership for the 600 person Bureau with an annual budget of over 700 million dollars.
Before that, Matthew served for years on staff for U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire where he worked with a diverse constituency base, large and small businesses, and took part in countless public events.
In 2011, Matthew helped manage Utah Governor and former U.S. Ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman's Presidential Campaign. He built wide ranging coalitions, managed social media, and planned town halls and campaign events.
Matthew started his professional career pioneering global health advocacy efforts for the ONE Campaign, co-founded by Bono of U2, starting in 2005 in New Hampshire and later in D.C. Through his advocacy work, he built a strong bipartisan base of support in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and engaged with high profile national leaders which led to billions more in funding for life saving programs.
