In this episode we chat to Milou Deelen, a Dutch journalist and activist who writes for publications like Vice. Milou's work looks into gender equality, male intimidation and slut-shaming and she has created viral content that challenges the societal norms that impact all genders.

This is the first of two episodes that will dive into this topic, with the next one being a live panel discussion on October 30th in London.

Milou, Annie and Will share personal stories that explore what slut-shaming is, why it's still happening and ultimately ask the question - who's really in control of women's bodies?

If you are affected by anything discussed in this episode, please speak to a professional. We are not experts, and everything we talk about is from personal experience. Our charity partner for the series is The Mix UK, who provide essential support for Under 25 year olds, and would be a good place to start if you want someone to talk to.

TOMS, our partner for the episode, are also partnering with Milou and Amsterdam-based girl empowerment non-profit, Project Fearless, to take a stand for gender equality for this generation of young women and the next. TOMS is giving an impact grant to Project Fearless to launch their pilot programme. The grant will directly support 36 girls aged 9-14 in Amsterdam to participate in three 6-8 week courses of hands-on learning and female-led mentoring.

This episode was recorded in Vondel CS in Amsterdam.

Milou will be part of our next panel entitled 'Why are women still paying for their sex?' on October 30th. For tickets visit https://ticketpass.org/event/EQRFKX
