You get inflation, central bankers get bonuses

The Bank of Canada gave its employees $45 million in bonuses and pay raises in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic while inflation soared. The Bank of Canada is supposed to keep inflation around two per cent. If you’ve been to the grocery store in the past year you know they failed. So why did they give themselves bonuses?

Nova Scotia’s premier takes a pay cut

Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston’s salary was cut by $11,246 while MLAs froze their salaries. Members of Parliament in Ottawa need to follow Houston’s lead and stop giving themselves pay raises.

Charlottetown council billing taxpayers for boozy dinner

Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown and fellow councillors expensed $1,800 on a boozy steak
dinner that included four bottles of wine, 11 beers, 20 ounces of liquor and three cocktails. We also caught councillors double dipping on their expenses.
