There has been much ballyhooing and celebrating of the social equity component of Illinois' legal cannabis market. How equitable has it really been, though? Anna Rose and Vi Herring of True Social Equity in Cannabis and Weed Tha Ppl, argue there has been no equity to be found. The two share their journeys with cannabis and how their group has led protests and demonstrations calling out Illinois and other states for false promises and list some of their demands for how true and actual social equity in legal cannabis markets in the U.S., should be created.
