Approximately 700 children enter the United States foster care system each day, most with little more than a trash bag of belongings.

Rob Scheer experienced this over forty years ago, when he entered foster care carrying a tattered trash bag. He aged out of foster care at the age of 18, became homeless, and again carried his possessions in a trash bag.

After graduating high school, Rob served in the U.S. Navy and then had a successful career as a banker. Rob and his husband Reece adopted several children from the foster care system. When his children arrived with their own belongings in trash bags, Rob and his family decided it was time to change this practice and Comfort Cases was born.
