In the previous episode Chris Do, Founder of The Futur, shares his most intimate memories of Keir McLaren, his coach for 13 years.

In Part I, we leave off with the question, “Was Keir worth it”

In Part II, You’ll Find Out:

  • The more complete answer to the question “Was Keir Worth It”
  • How and why coaching pays for itself
  • How to reframe failure or bad decisions as “tuition” towards future success.
  • How to maintain rationality if and when desperation creeps up to avoid the suboptimal
  • Chris’s perspective on what Keir meant when he said, “You get the world you see”
  • Why we don’t want to live a life of easy challenges

We wrap up this episode with some reflection and appreciation for Chris’s impact on me personally and professionally. And, in his generous spirit his kind words.

The post- it Chris encourages us to have in daily view, “If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes”

Who is this quote attributable to?

Good question! Research pointed me several sources:

Nick Donofrio, IBM’s Executive Vice President of Innovation & Technology

Courtney C. Stevens Author of “The Lies About Truth”

Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes – an AA Sticker.

Episodes 30 and 31 are dedicated Keir McLaren, Chris Do and all coaches who are brave enough to take a stand and speak up for our current and future success.

About Keir McLaren

Keir McLaren, passed away on August 21, 2022. While his title was business coach, for most, he was so much more. He was not one to sugarcoat what had to be said; And yet through the gruff was always kindness and supreme empathy.

His Pittsburg Gazette obituary summed it up like this:

“He was working and curious about the future up to his last moment. No he isn't resting, he is riding his Harley into the unknown and loving every part of it”
