Let's focus on what we can control first:

  1. Speak clearly
  2. Frame your input / solution properly
  3. Speak at a normal voice level, not too loud but not quiet / meek either
  4. Speak with confidence and conviction
  5. Ask questions, listen, respond; make it a conversation
  6. Get your time - schedule meetings, get on an agenda
  7. Use the phone when it gets to be too much back and forth
  8. Know and set your intentions ahead of time
  9. Understand and know your value, worth and expertise
  10. Jump into the conversation
  11. Ask people who are interrupting you to wait until you're finished
  12. Be mindful of your body language
  13. If in person, sit in the center of the room
