Finbarr O’Reilly (2016) and Thomas Brennan (2016) are collaborating on a book, “Shooting Ghosts,” combining Finbarr’s work as a world-renowned combat photographer and Tom Brennan’s transition from a wounded Marine veteran to a journalist with a passion for covering military and veteran affairs. Penguin Random House will publish their work in early 2017. Among other honors, Finbarr is a 2013 Nieman Fellow at Harvard, a 2014 Ochberg Fellow at the DART Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and a 2015 Yale World Fellow. Brennan’s work has appeared in USA on Patrol Magazine, Stars and Stripes, and online and the front page at The New York Times. Brennan graduated as a Stabile Fellow from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and is the founder of The War Horse, a nonprofit journalism outlet that will investigate the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. He is the recipient of the 2014 American Legion Fourth Estate Award.
