Ketchi, a young girl living in the dense foliage of French Guiana with her her family, is used to abiding by the natural rhythms and laws of nature. She is warned repeatedly about the supernatural dangers lurking just beyond where the eyes can see, dangers waiting to entrap unsuspecting children. One day on a walk home through tall grass, Ketchi comes face to face with one of the most feared ancient entities existing in the region.
