For this inaugural episode we explore the 1982 Wells Gray Park murders as well as the 2002 DC Sniper Shootings. We find these cases have a lot in common.
Both incidents involved long rifle wielding perpetrators killing en masse while preferring to operate in secrecy. Lacking solid leads, both police investigations also made the same mistake of committing hard to the wrong vehicle ID.
Chasing the wrong vehicle prolonged the freedom of evil men, ultimately leading to the perpetrators themselves leaking clues to their downfalls.
