There was Vietnam and there was a civil rights movement and protest. Marvin Gaye recorded What's Going On and was released in 1971. Stevie Wonder recorded Loves in Need of Love Today, and It was released in 1976. Music and it's power. Motown was more than music and celebration. I say Motown is the sound of people telling millions of stories about love. I think Motown had an affect on all of America. Motown was popular in the US and the UK. Who doesn't know Motown. Motown had a significant effect on the world.
Motown played a crucial role in breaking racial barriers in music. While Motown music thrive pd during the Vietnam war era, it’s songs often carried messages of social change and empowerment. Motown artist had social messages of love and hope. They gave us messages of unity and change. Motown is soul music reaching audiences worldwide. Motown entertained everyone. People moved together in dance. It seemed everyone loved Motown.
