Over 400,000 COVID cases were reported yesterday across the U.S.—the most *ever* in one day, due to a backlog in testing. The country is averaging more than 240,000 new cases a day over the last week. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky gives an update on the agency’s latest testing guidance. Chicago got its first measurable snowfall of the season yesterday. It was the latest first snowfall in Chicago's history. Meanwhile, it could hit 90 degrees in Laredo, Texas, today. More than three dozen cities across the south could see record highs, and those warm temperatures will trigger the threat of severe weather, including potential tornadoes for parts of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama.
