A new mental health unit will be opening at the Charleston County jail. The Restoration unit is a partnership between the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Department of Mental Health to aid residents who suffer from a mental health disorder and provide them with more treatment options. CCSO Mental Health Director William Malcolm talks with Sheriff Kristin Graziano about how this new idea at the jail hopes to not only help residents in the Detention Center, but other people in jails across the state as well - all in this episode of The Beat podcast, a conversation about the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and our beautiful South Carolina community.
