John Morgan: We Need $15 an Hour Minimum Wage Now More Than Ever
Manage episode 272772576 series 2767221
The minimum wage in Florida right now stands at $8.56 an hour. In 2004, Florida voters approved a constitutional amendment that increases the state minimum wage each year based on inflation.
By the way, Florida’s minimum wage is higher than the national minimum wage, which stands at $7.25 an hour.
However, some say that $8.56 isn’t enough to live on. The calls for $15 an hour have dominated elections and presidential debates, and now you, the voter, will get to decide on whether Florida should move to $15 an hour.
With us to talk about it, the man behind Amendment 2, attorney John Morgan.
