When the weight of life's decisions feels like a mountain on your shoulders, imagine if Saint Augustine's advice could be your shovel. "Love God, love others, and do whatever you want" – a concept that had me, Ryan, and my wife questioning the weighty expectation of waiting for divine signals before stepping forward. Our 22nd session unwraps this pivotal moment in our lives, shaped by our involvement with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), and explores how spiritual guidance can sometimes tie us in knots. We dive into how this unexpected wisdom has since reshaped our approach to making choices, both big and small.
Over a hearty meal at the Macaroni Grill, Pastor Greg Boyd took my tangled thoughts and smoothed them over with simplicity and brilliance. He shared insights that could very well be the permission slip you've been waiting for to follow your heart's desires. And as we recount this exchange, we also nod to a powerful quote from the Lynn family's "Sleeping with Bread," setting the stage for a conversation that's as liberating as it is grounding. If you've ever felt paralyzed by the pursuit of God's will, this heart-to-heart is one to tune into – let's journey together towards a freedom that still honors the divine.
