As we march through the Lenten season, our "Giving Up" sermon series takes a turn towards the profound with a call to surrender our very existence to divine will. In the stirring quiet of a Sunday morning, we recognize life's milestones and contemplate the true meaning of sacrifice, looking beyond the binds of control, expectations, superiority, and adversaries to something greater. It's a journey that beckons for self-examination and prompts a question: how ready are we to lay down our lives for a faith that promises eternity?
This episode unfolds the potent narrative of Lazarus, drawing parallels to our own spiritual awakenings as we discuss living with purpose and fearlessness in the embrace of God's love. Through personal stories, such as the touching account of my father's final days, we discover the strength found in serving others and the transformative power of self-sacrifice. There is no guest joining us; instead, we gather at the crossroads of mortality and eternity, challenging you to rise, to commit, and to declare with conviction, "I am yours." Amen.
