In the Old and New Testaments, God manifested Himself through prophesies, dreams, visions and other spiritual experiences to His people. Let us take a look at the divine encounters of a few Bible characters such as Moses, Elijah, Isaiah and Paul, and discover what applications and lessons we can draw from them. Are spiritual experiences still relevant and valid today? Yes, in Acts 2:17, it says, "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." However, I want to state that any and every spiritual experience must not be elevated above God's Word. If the divine encounter contradicts what the Bible says, it must be rejected and renounced. As much as there are spiritual experiences that are real, there are also counterfeit ones that deceive. We need to walk in the Spirit and be discerning in order to know why and how spiritual experiences can serve their rightful role in our lives.
