In today’s episode, I speak to Moloko Komane an analyst by trade and currently working as the Head of Business Advisory for Africa at Multichoice. Moloko is also a Property Investor, specializing in student accommodation, an Executive Director for an organization called SAWIL a vehicle for women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals in Africa seeking to advance their careers through leadership training. Today we speak about women leadership, especially in the workplace. Key takeaways from this insightful conversation include but are not limited to the realization that; society has significantly evolved, and it needs to keep evolving in order to allow women to take leadership roles and have the same opportunities as their male counterparts; there is still discrimination against women, specifically black women, in the corporate space and we need to find ways to overcome that and one of the ways to fight this is by understanding the importance of being confident and assertive in the corporate space as a woman, as well as regularly sharpening your skills and upgrading your qualifications to fit the role you intend to take on. Have resilience, perseverance and refuse to take no for an answer. Also important is investing in a mentor or sponsor to help you along the way.
